Umesh is currently the Head of Haldex ANAND India Pvt. Ltd. In the current role he is responsible for driving strategic growth, Operations, P&L of the company and new product technology’s introduction to Indian & Global customers. In this role he is accountable to the global Board of Haldex. Prior to this Umesh was the Head of ANAND Group Strategy & Planning. In this role he was responsible for driving inorganic growth / M&A activities for ANAND and group companies. He was also part of the Strategic Growth Council at ANAND, which focuses on M&A, Technologies, Innovation & Strategy related to Future Mobility.

Umesh has been the COO & Business Head of Commercial Vehicles & Railways Business Unit, Gabriel India Ltd. for over 5 years. In the role of COO he has been responsible for the driving business growth both, domestic & exports, P&L and managing operations performance. In addition at Gabriel, he is responsible for driving companywide strategic initiatives & growth projects.

Umesh has been with the ANAND Group for over 16 years holding different positions in business & operations management, strategy & business planning.

With a total industry experience of over 28 years, he has had a career spanning with global automotive OEMs and auto-component suppliers.

Umesh started his career with Bajaj in 1993, followed by 12 years of contributions at Detroit, USA with General Motors and Ford Motor Company in areas including powertrain manufacturing, vehicle product development, business planning & finance.

Umesh is a Mechanical Engineer from Pune University. He holds a Masters in Industrial Engineering from Ohio, USA and a MBA from the Michigan State University, USA.

He is an avid marathoner, with interest in studying global business trends.
